What this selection validates isn't just our passive acoustic detection technology for critical infrastructure protection. It's the next step: the software layer that fuses our sensor data with Galileo and Copernicus.
And this isn't cosmetic. Galileo High Accuracy Service gives us sub-decimetre positioning and timing for our nodes - meaning detection resolution well beyond GPS alone, particularly in urban or industrial environments.
Copernicus (Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, CAMS) brings the terrain context and atmospheric variables that directly condition acoustic propagation. Space inputs at the core of the system, not as decoration.
Here's the scale that puts it in perspective: Galileo already serves more than 5 billion devices worldwide (see comment). That's not a system waiting to prove itself - it's live European space infrastructure, in billions of pockets.
Our job now is to add one more stone to that edifice: turning that positioning backbone into real-time protection for the ports, energy sites and industrial facilities Europe can't afford to leave exposed.
