Great News for Ormia AI!

We are building a next generation AI for drone detection in the most challenging environments, together with scientists from the University of Tartu, led by Kallol Roy and his team.

In a highly competitive contest, Ormia was selected for funding.
Thank you AI & Robotics Estonia AIRE for your trust in us and for supporting us in keeping critical infrastructure safe. Thank you Kaie Nurmik, Kert Kaljula, Martin Karner, Katre Eljas, Reet Pärgmäe and the rest of the team!

A little intro to the subject: radars and radio scanners miss drones that fly low or fly with no radio link. Ormia hears them. But hearing a sound is the easy part. Knowing what made it is the hard part. Critical infrastructure sites are full of noise, wind, engines, machinery, birds. In this project we build the AI that pulls a drone out of all of it and becomes sharper each time it meets a new site. That is what turns a microphone into a detector you can rely on.

Looking forward to working with the talented people of the University of Tartu: Kallol Roy, Mari-Anne Suurpere and the rest of the team.
